A car mows down a group of counterprotesters at rally of white nationalists. The accused suspect reportedly has "extreme" views. In the aftermath of this comes a familiar question: Is it an act of terror? Is it a hate crime? Why are some violent acts labeled hate crimes or terrorism and others not? And does it even really matter?
