Venezuelan sanctions without diplomacy will fail

Despite condemnation from 40 countries and even the Pope, Venezuela's ruling party installed its new assembly last weekend. Choosing as its head former Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, a loyal follower of President Nicolas Maduro, the assembly focused on efforts to stifle any dissent, beginning deliberations to undermine the opposition controlled legislature and restructure the government.
