'The King of Staten Island' tries to break Pete Davidson out of his 'SNL' box

Pete Davidson hasn't exactly blazed new trails in his film roles, and that's doubly true of the semi-autobiographical "The King of Staten Island." But teaming with writer-director Judd Apatow offers the "Saturday Night Live" regular what's designed to be a breakout showcase, in a movie that actually owes its best moments less to Davidson than his co-stars.
