Studios catch monstrous case of franchise fever

Once upon a time hit movies -- "Star Wars," "Raiders of the Lost Ark" -- begat sequels. Today, studios have begun plotting out "franchises" and entire "cinematic universes" before even dropping the puck on a first film.
